Greetings 2018! First show of the year all booked and ready to go. Well just need to make up a few pieces. Get some new flyers printed. Wash the van. Dust the cat. Etc.

New event for me. Joining forces with Garry Jones Ceramics to create a new range of larger pieces for indoor and outside display. Planes and automobiles. No trains yet but I've got a few weeks...

Christmas is coming...

The 3 weekend run of Christmas fairs is over. Time to get back into the studio and catch up with the commissions. I you would like to commission a gift get in touch quickly. And don't forget workshop days are available to purchase as gifts too.

Winter 2018

Looking forward to a busy Christmas this year. I have 3 events in November running on consecutive weekends. I start at Crafts for Christmas in Harrogate for the 9th to the 12th. Then on to the Crafts in the Pen on the 18th and 19th. Finally a lovely local event - Christmas Artisan Market and Strelley Hall on the 25th and 26th.

Back again!

The frailloop website has been down due to hackers. Clearly we got mistaken for the Pentagon or some great institution and worth taking out. However Brilliant Bruce has managed to sort out the problems and get it back up and running. :-)

G is for...

The key fobs are about as small as I can go. Sizes vary a bit as it depends what little bits of flat metal I can find. But they are all made by my fair hand. Cut, drilled and filed. £5.50 posted.

It's that time again. Looking forward to getting back to my space in the tent.

Successful Day

Another busy day with a student - with the outcomes shown in the picture. Every student day is different. I work on a one-to-one basis to build the day around the students needs. That tends to be a bit of a go with the welder - often for the student the first time. Then on to create the piece of work the student has in mind - often a little drawing and some bits of metal. This time I was presented with small bags of bits and the idea for a small animal or bird. So rather than one large piece of sculpture we had many.

Commission piece. This was a surprise birthday present organised by a group of friends. Project managed from the USA with discussion and design input. Enjoyable piece to work with a good result.

Art in the Pen Carlisle

Thank you to everyone that came to Patchings and made that show so enjoyable for me. Always nice to see happy customers coming to visit and tell me how their sculptures are doing. For the first time I managed to pack up without it raining on me!

Now time to create new stock for the next event which runs on the 20th and 21st June (with a preview on the evening of the 19th) - Art in the Pen in the Borderway Auction Mart, Carlisle - and look forward to the amazing farmers breakfast available there!

Creative Recycling Gallery window

Made a delivery to House of Bystander this week, who are next door to the Creative Recycling Gallery in Chorlton, Manchester. Lovely gallery who have supported me for some time. Really pleased to see the window.

Grizedale Home

The large owl has been delivered to his new home in Grizedale, at the Grizedale Camp Site, on the edge of the famous forest sculpture trail. Should you want to visit you have a choice of yurt, camping pod or bring your tent. Great site set in wonderful countryside.

Something small

As a change from big thing I've been having a go at some small things instead. It's quite difficult working a chunky piece of metal into a key fob, but I have created a few. Some words, some letters and some more spark plug fobs that were so popular in Harrogate.
